A traditional stone barn with countryside views that’s within walking distance of the village of Llangybi, a perfect retreat for couples and small families that want to enjoy the outdoors.
This rustic barn enjoys an elevated location just above the village of Llangybi, here you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and enjoy the short walk into the village which is well served with a village pub. If you’ve come to walk you can leave the car behind as there are waymarked paths available from your front door, along with circular walks that will guide you through open fields and rich woodland. Just three miles away you will find Usk a vibrant market town steeped in history with many charming old buildings, a wonderful Norman castle, a rural life museum, beautiful churches and a Town Trail which includes 28 sites of historic interest. An area that is steeped in history with fine castles in Chepstow, Abergavenny, Raglan and Crickhowell. Along with a Roman amphitheatre in Caerleon. Golfers are spoilt for choice with access to Green Meadow Golf and Country Club, Woodlake Park and Golf Club and st Pierre golf course. This area is surrounded by breath taking forests and hillsides where you can also access The Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons.
Leave the village of Llangybi and climb the country lanes up to the barn, set within the grounds of the owner’s home enjoying views onto the countryside. Step inside, a great space for wet dogs and muddy boots, a utility area with washing machine and separate WC. A wooden door gives access to a spacious kitchen/diner the hub of the barn where you can sit comfortably at the table with friends and enjoy a glass of wine whilst the chef amongst you prepares a hearty meal. The kitchen has been finished with granite worktops and handcrafted cupboards. Well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. For relaxing a cosy lounge where you can sink back into the sofas after a day exploring the local and enjoy a movie on the TV. When the day is done climb the stairs where you will find two bedrooms. A king-size room with en-suite shower over bath and WC. A king-size zip-and-link (that can be made into a twin room by request when booking) with en-suite shower over bath and WC.
The barn enjoys a terrace to the rear where you can relax and enjoy the open grounds with views across the countryside.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
