This secluded property is nestled in the heart of West Sussex with the South Downs National Park only a few miles away, with plenty of walks from the doorstep, and is the perfect holiday retreat for the family, offering total peace and solitude for those wanting to get away from it all.
Located in the small town of Shipley, famous for Smock Mill, even though it is no longer open to the public the mill itself has been much loved throughout the years. Keen walkers and cyclists will love to explore the many footpaths and trails in the local area, many of which can be found without getting in the car, and there is easy access to the South Down National Park. Slightly further afield are the historic cities of Chichester, with its beautiful cathedral and Arundel with its famous castle or venture down to the coast at Bognor Regis which offers a traditional seaside day out and a range of sailing and water sports. Other attractions in the area include Goodwood, Hickstead, Leonardslee Gardens and many National Trust properties. The cottage is set down a quiet country lane, with little passing traffic and just dog walkers and horse riders passing by. The owner can arrange horse livery at a yard approximately 5 minutes from the property.
Enter into the property's hallway where you can hang your coats and store your shoes in the understairs cupboard, before heading into the lounge with its comfy sofas (one of which can be made up as a sofa bed for any extra guests), wood burner and Smart TV this is the best place to relax and pop on a film after a busy day exploring or simply marvel in the views out over the garden. Through to the kitchen, whip up a family meal using the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and take in the lovely views out through the patio doors out to the back garden. Next to the kitchen, there’s room for everyone to enjoy family meals in the cosy dining room, with wood burner. This property offers two places if you’re after a little quiet time, a summer room with comfy chairs and wood burner along with stunning views over the pretty garden, or head to the snug with wood burner and curl up on the sofa to watch your favourite film on the Smart TV, where there is also a desk if any work needs to be done during your stay. Just off the snug is a shower room with shower and WC. From the hallway head up to the first floor where you will find the three bedrooms, one super-king-size, a double and a twin. A bathroom with hand held shower over roll top bath and WC completes this floor.
Venturing outside to the large enclosed garden with garden furniture under the pagoda and Morso Forno wood burning BBQ and pizza oven. Children and dogs can play safely in the large fenced garden, and there is also a fenced pond with fish. Complete with your very own hot tub this garden is the ultimate hang out area on those beautiful summer days and evenings. The property has a garage, with a washing machine and tumble dryer, along with private off-road parking for three cars
