Charming Victorian property offering bright and stylish accommodation for six, enjoying a fantastic location just a short walk from the seafront and beach in the resort of Ventnor.
One of the loveliest spots on the Isle of Wight, the resort of Ventnor has something for everyone. The town’s main beach is popular with families and sunbathers thanks to its golden sands, children’s paddling pool, seafront shops, and waterside pub. A little further around the coast, meanwhile, Steephill Cove is a quiet, secluded beach which is accessible only on foot, either down a track from the main road, or via a footpath from Ventnor Botanic Gardens, which makes it an ideal place to escape to and enjoy a peaceful meal in the beachside restaurant.
Stepping inside the front gate to this property, guests pass two impressive palm trees before taking the three external steps up to the front door. Once inside, there is a choice of two separate lounges in which to relax, both of which have been finished in the property’s signature contemporary light and bright style. The first of these offers an elegant sitting space, ideal for enjoying good conversation and drinks in the evening, whilst the other has a more relaxed feel and is where guests will find the Smart TV. A twin bedroom on this floor is an attractive room with well-chosen co-ordinating furniture, next to which there is a cloakroom with WC. Stairs from the hallway lead down to the lower-ground floor, where the spacious semi-open-plan kitchen/diner has been finished in a sleek, contemporary style and is equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, whilst the washer/dryer is housed in a separate utility room. Returning to the ground floor, a second set of stairs leads up to the two remaining bedrooms on the first floor. Both of these are king-size rooms, with the beautiful master bedroom suite offering not only a walk-in wardrobe, but also has French windows which open out onto an attractive terrace. The bathroom on this floor is a chic and spacious room which offers a hand-held shower over bath and WC, in addition to which there is a wet room with shower.
Outside, the property benefits from a terraced garden which is set over several meandering levels with numerous places to relax, garden furniture, sun loungers, and a rock garden with sea views. Please be aware that due to the layout of the garden, children should be carefully supervised are there are some steep drops. There is driveway parking to the front of the house with room for one medium-sized car, whilst there is a public car park located just a minute’s walk from the cottage.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
