Thornthwaite is a small village in the Lake District with views of Skiddaw and the cottages are close to the bustling market town of Keswick. This tranquil area is a perfect retreat for walking or cycling, a paradise for dog walkers. There are walks for everyday of the week. This area is famous not only for its lakes, forests and mountains, but also for its associations with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth. The properties offer you the perfect base to discover and explore the whole of the Lake District and all its attractions. Within easy reach you will find Newlands Adventure Centre, The Lakes Distillery and Go Ape Tree Top Adventures.
This beautiful cottage based been lovingly designed to provide comfort and relaxation whilst on your holiday. Going through the front door into the lounge, with its large windows, is a bright and welcoming space with comfortable sofas, and French doors which lead out into the garden. There is also a TV / DVD player and a gas fire for those chillier evenings. Step through to the country-inspired kitchen / diner, which is well-equipped with electric range oven and hob, microwave, fridge / freezer and dishwasher. There is also the added bonus of a useful utility room with an additional freezer and a washing machine. There is also room for all at the dining table - a place to enjoy family time or catch up with friends. Going through the cottage, there is 1 large king-size room with TV, plenty of storage space and fantastic views to take in. A further 2 twin rooms, both beautifully finished, making the most of the exposed brick work and sloped ceilings with sky lights, adding even more of a light and airy feel. There is a ground floor shower room, with WC and an upstairs bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.
Continuing outside, there is a fantastic, well-maintained private garden for you all to enjoy, surrounded by dramatic scenery. With an outdoor table and chairs on the patio, this is the ideal spot for a glass of something chilled after a busy day of exploring.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
