Alternatively head south and within a mile you are in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which offers river estuaries, rolling hills and thatched cottages surrounding the lovely old coastal towns of Brixham, Salcombe and Dartmouth where you can sample freshly caught seafood and browse the many independent shops, galleries and cafes. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include the cathedral city of Exeter, the historic naval city of Plymouth, Pennywell Farm, Haldon Forest and The South Devon Railway.
