To the North, Gorleston offers a stunning bay with golden sand beaches and clifftop restaurants, further North is the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth with Sea World. Those harking back to childhood memories can enjoy the history and heritage of the fishing industry and wealth created by the sardine trade along the quayside. For a bit of candy-floss and kitsch, the seafront provides illuminations, pier, promenades, arcades, funfair and a sandy beach. To the South, another traditional seaside town Lowestoft is just a few miles away and few miles beyond are the towns of Southwold and Alburgh which are a must-visit for any stay in Suffolk. Take a trip inland to the magical waterways of the Norfolk broads or the many English Heritage sites that dot the landscape.
