Some yachts were drawn up on the nearby beach as well as in the wee harbour. The wind was making their sails whip and crack about, so my friend's old dog wouldn't go near them (for some reason the pooch is scared of kites and probably sees the sails cracking around in the wind as giant kites, daft but loveable hairy galoot).
