Porthcurnick Beach is situated on the Roseland peninsula, approximately north of Portscatho. The beach is accessed via a footpath through fields, followed by steep, zigzagged steps. It is also a short walk from the main car park in Portscatho.
The beach is a south-east facing sandy cove, approximately 210 metres wide, owned by the National Trust. It is backed by high cliffs and features a stream that flows across the beach to the sea. The beach is gently curving and offers golden sands, providing ample space for sunbathing, picnicking, and building sandcastles when the tide is out.
The beach offers a range of activities, including safe paddling and bathing due to its gently sloping shore and relatively shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for families. The award-winning Hidden Hut Café is located on the beachfront, offering delicious refreshments and meals during the summer months. The beach is also dog-friendly, with dogs allowed off-leash outside of peak season and during certain hours.
Porthcurnick Beach is on The Roseland Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
