Ardwell Bay is a remote, mostly sandy beach that offers stunning views towards Northern Ireland. The beach is a sheltered and sandy cove, making it an ideal spot for building sandcastles, exploring rockpools, and observing wildlife.
The beach provides opportunities for walking, with several paths in the area, including one that leads to the remains of Doon Castle, which dates back to around 2000 BC. Visitors can also enjoy looking out for birds, seals, and possibly even dolphins in the surf. The beach has its own car park, accessible via a country road past East High Ardwell Farm, and can be reached via a short path from the car park.
The beach has a small picnic area, but there are no other facilities available. Due to its relatively remote location, Ardwell Bay is rarely busy, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful and secluded beach experience.
