Great Yarmouth North Beach is situated just north of the main Great Yarmouth beach, near the pier. The beach is a delightful wide, sandy stretch, backed with low, grassy sand dunes and features a promenade that runs alongside much of the beach. The beach is situated in front of the gorgeous Broads, and there is a golf course to the north and a racecourse behind the beach. Behind the beach, there are large numbers of caravans.
Facilities at Great Yarmouth North Beach are quite good, with a paying car park and public toilets along North Drive. The water quality is excellent, and the sand is generally kept clean, although there is no lifeguard service, so bathers should take care. Visitors can enjoy walking along the promenade and boardwalk, which makes access to the beach easier for those with pushchairs or limited mobility. In late spring, a section of the beach becomes home to a colony of Little Terns, which migrate from Africa to nest. Visitors can seek advice from the nearby RSPB cabin on how to view the birds without disturbing their young.
Great Yarmouth is a large, busy, and popular resort on the east coast of Norfolk. The nearby Scroby Sands Wind Farm is located just off the coast in the North Sea. Golfers can play a round with a sea view at Great Yarmouth and Caister Golf Club. The Venetian waterway and the Boating Lake have been restored to their former glory, adding to the charm of the beach.
Caister South Beach, located just north of Great Yarmouth, is another popular destination. The beach features a golden sandy beach backed by natural dunes. The beach is dog-friendly all year round and has a car park close to the seafront, behind the Lifeboat Station off Beach Road. There are holiday and caravan parks along the beach front for holidaymakers throughout the year.
