Skegness Beach is a spacious wide sandy beach backed by dunes, offering a beautiful setting for a day out or a family holiday. The beach is part of the bustling seaside town of Skegness, which has a promenade, beautiful seafront gardens, and two boating lakes.
The beach and town offer a range of attractions and activities, including donkey rides, crazy golf, fairground rides, an outdoor swimming pool, and an indoor play area. Visitors can also enjoy horse and cart rides around the town, live entertainment at the Embassy Centre, and traditional seaside amusements. The beach itself offers a range of activities, such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, sunbathing, surfing, crabbing, rock pooling, paddling, picnics, and flying kites.
The beach has good access for those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs, and it's also possible to hire beach wheelchairs. There are public toilets available, and nearby car parks provide good parking facilities. The railway station is within walking distance, and the beach has a lifeguard service in season.
Dogs are banned from the area in front of the pier from 1 May to 30 September.
Skegness Beach is one of the UK's most famous seaside destinations, and it's where the first Butlins holiday resort was opened in 1936.
