Stonehaven Cowie Beach is a half-moon bay comprising sandy beaches and a harbour, backed by the charming town of Stonehaven. The beach is divided into two sections, with Cowie being a mostly shingle beach located at the northern end of the town. This section offers excellent views over Stonehaven Bay and harbour, as well as the impressive rocky headlands to the south.
The area is popular for water sports, fishing, and walking, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The beach is bounded by the mouth of Cowie Water at the southern end and rocky outcrops at the northern end. A promenade runs along the beach, providing easy access down a short flight of steps.
Visitors to Stonehaven Cowie Beach can enjoy a range of facilities, including a café, shop, and a heated open-air swimming pool, all located along the beachfront. Parking is also available along the promenade. For those looking for more amenities, the town centre of Stonehaven, located approximately half a mile to the south of the beach, offers a large selection of shops, places to eat, and places to stay.
