Bournemouth Alum Chine is situated at the opening to one of Bournemouth's famous Chines and boasts a good range of facilities, including beach chalets, deck chairs, sunbeds, parasols, windbreaks, and beach accessible wheelchairs available for hire. The beach features a gently sloping sandy area with no sudden shelving or rip currents, providing safe bathing. The beach is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May to September.
The beach offers a variety of facilities, including:
* A children's play area with a wet play park and a Treasure Island themed play area
* A free to use paddling pool
* A Green Flag award winning sub-tropical garden
* A restaurant, snack shop, and ice-cream vendor
* A dog exercise area (May to September)
* Guided walk leaflets available from the Alum Chine beach office

The beach offers a range of accessibility features, including:
* Beach accessible wheelchairs available for hire
* A baby changing area and RADAR-key accessible toilet next to the children's play area
* Drinking water points and outdoor showers
* Free beach wheelchairs can be borrowed (first come, first served)
* A flat promenade making it easy to get to Bournemouth Pier
There are restrictions on:
* Skateboarding, skating, cycling, and e-scooters in July and August
* Dogs and barbecues in certain areas
Bournemouth Alum Chine is adjacent to the Bournemouth Coast Path.

Dogs not allowed between groynes 3 and 5 between 1st May 1st and 30th September. These areas are clearly marked with signage.
