Bournemouth Durley Chine is a sandy beach resort, approximately 630 metres wide, located between Bournemouth Pier and Alum Chine. The beach provides a number of beach huts and toilet facilities, a restaurant and small kiosks providing snacks and beach accessories. It is a popular family choice due to its clean water, golden sands, and easy access to baby changing stations, RNLI services during the summer season, ice cream kiosk, and lost children's centres.
The beach is mainly sand with some shingle, and shelves gently into the sea. The sands back onto attractive woodland, and in clear weather, there are views of Old Harry's Rocks and the Isle of Wight. There are restrictions on dogs, skateboarding, skating, cycling, e-scooters, and barbecues on the beach and promenade.
The beach is a popular location for wind surfing, water skiing, surfing, swimming and bathing, sailing, jet-skiing, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Durley Chine Car Park is located next to the beach, with 131 spaces, including seven accessible bays. There is also an accessible toilet with RADAR key access, and deckchairs and beach huts available to rent throughout the year.
Alum Chine Beach, located nearby, is also a popular family summer holiday destination on the Dorset Coast. This Blue Flag award-winning sandy beach gently slopes down to the sea and offers ideal swimming conditions with an excellent range of children's play area facilities and disabled access.
Bournemouth Durley Chine is adjacent to the Bournemouth Coast Path.
