Poole Branksome Chine is a narrow sandy beach with a promenade, situated in a picturesque area of the Dorset coast. The beach is a popular destination for families and water sports enthusiasts, offering a range of amenities including a café, shop, restaurant, and bar.
The beach features fine golden sand that slopes gradually, making it an excellent choice for families with young children. The promenade offers a range of amenities, including a café restaurant, beach huts, beach shop, bar, and ice cream kiosks. Accessibility for wheelchairs and prams is good, with disabled toilet facilities provided. A marked safe swim zone and a lost children's patrol are also available, and lifeguards are on duty between May and September.
The beach offers a range of facilities and services, including parking at Branksome Chine Surface Car Park and Beach Road pay and display. Beach huts can be hired, and drinking water is available, along with other refreshments and seaside essentials at the shop. Disabled toilets are located in the Branksome Chine car park and the promenade, and a beach-accessible wheelchair can be borrowed from the seasonal beach office.
Some rules and regulations apply to the beach, including restrictions on dogs in summer, cycling, skateboarding, skating, and e-scooters on the promenade and paths in July and August. Electric BBQ hotplates are available for hire, and disposable barbecues are allowed after 6pm, but visitors must follow disposal instructions with care. Open fires, gas barbecues, and camping are not allowed on the beach at any time.
The beach offers a range of activities and water sports, including windsurfing and volleyball hire. The water is ideal for swimming, and there are a range of water sports facilities for all ages.
Poole Branksome Chine is adjacent to the Bournemouth Coast Path.
