Helensburgh Beach, situated on the shores of the Upper Firth of Clyde, is a popular destination for both locals and visitors, offering a range of activities and scenic views. .

Helensburgh Beach is characterised by its sand and shingle composition, with two piers and a promenade in certain areas. The beach is a favourite among the local windsurfing community, who take advantage of the suitable conditions for this sport.

The beach overlooks the Upper Firth of Clyde, just outside the mouth of Gare Loch, and offers stunning views across the bay to the hilly Rosneath peninsula. The beach is backed by a promenade, which provides an ideal vantage point to admire the scenery. Nearby, there are shops and places to eat, while parking is available at the ferry terminal located at the south-eastern end of the beach. Additional amenities in the area include toilets, a skate park, and an indoor swimming pool.

The indoor swimming pool is scheduled for replacement in the coming years, as part of a plan to redevelop the pier.

Popular activities at Helensburgh Beach include windsurfing and boating trips. The town of Helensburgh, which developed as a seaside resort after the completion of the railway line to Glasgow, is easily accessible by train, with two services per hour from Helensburgh Central station, located just 200 meters from the beach. The town boasts two conservation areas and features several footpaths, including the John Muir Way, which spans 134 miles to the town of Dunbar.
