Kames Bay is a small, sand and shingle beach that offers pleasant views out over the Kyles of Bute, the rugged, mountainous countryside of the Isle of Bute, and the surrounding area. The beach is backed by the picturesque village of Kames, which provides various facilities for visitors, including toilets, a hotel, a pub with views of the bay, a village shop, and a post office.
The beach features two piers and is a popular spot for boating. Visitors can also enjoy roadside parking next to the beach. The area is wild and remote, with many footpaths along the shore and in the surrounding hills, mountains, and forests, offering plenty of opportunities for walking and exploration.
The beach is situated near the village of Kames, and Auchenlochan is located approximately one mile to the north. The area is easily accessible by car, with roadside parking available.
