Seahouses is a historic fishing village situated on the Northumberland coast, approximately midway between Bamburgh Castle and Beadnell. The village features a small harbour, built in the late 19th century, which provides shelter for attractive fishing boats and serves as a departure point for boat trips to the Farne Islands.
Seahouses North Beach is a long, remote beach measuring nearly two kilometres in length. The sandy beach slopes gently, resulting in a long distance to the sea at low tide. The extensive area of gently sloping, sandy beach stretching north of the harbour is backed by low, grassy dunes and features a number of rocky outcrops.
The beach is used by birdwatchers, sea anglers, and walkers, and offers good water quality. On clear days, the Farne Islands can be seen in the distance. Visitors can take boat trips from the harbour to the Farne Islands, where they can spot puffins, grey seals, dolphins, porpoises, and whales.
The nearby St Aidans Beach, located just north of Seahouses Harbour, stretches along to Bamburgh Beach, offering visitors plenty of space to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The area offers a range of accommodation options, including holiday camps and self-catering cottages.
Seahouses North Beach is on the North Northumberland Heritage Coast.
