Fraserburgh Beach is a long, golden, sandy beach that stretches along the Aberdeenshire coastline, starting at the south-eastern end of the town and meeting the Moray Firth and the North Sea. The beach's proximity to facilities and its fine golden sand make it an ideal spot for families, with plenty of room for everyone.
The beach has a substantial sand dune system behind it, which includes a salt marsh and reed beds, providing a haven for wildlife, including many species of wading birds. Visitors may also be lucky enough to spot dolphins or whales in the surf. At the north-western end of the beach, visitors can find a range of facilities, including a car park, a children's play area, a seashore centre, toilets, and changing rooms, accessed via a short flight of steps.
In the centre of Fraserburgh, just a few hundred meters north of the beach, there are many more facilities available, including eateries, places to stay, and a lighthouse museum. The town is also home to Fraserburgh Golf Club, located behind the sand dunes that back the beach, and a harbour that is still the largest working shellfish port in Europe.
