Inverboyndie Beach is situated to the east of the town of Banff and can be easily accessed via the coast path. The beach itself is a long, sandy stretch that is favoured by walkers and swimmers. It is also regarded as one of the best surfing beaches in the region.
Behind the beach, there is a small rocky slope, followed by a large grassy area that features picnic spots, a children's play area, toilets, and the Banff Links Caravan Park. A car park and Inverboyndie village are located just behind this grassy area. The footpath from Banff continues along the coast past the beach to the village of Whitehills.
Visitors to Inverboyndie Beach can also enjoy the local amenities in Banff, including shops, places to eat, and accommodation. The town is home to a golf course, a museum, and Duff House, a grand Scottish home that is now part of the National Gallery of Scotland. Those spending time at the beach may also be lucky enough to spot dolphins in the surf.
