Rosehearty is a small town situated approximately 5 miles west of Fraserburgh. The beach itself is nestled between the harbour to the west and rocky outcrops to the east, forming a crescent-shaped bay.
The north-facing beach boasts white sands and clear waters, which, on sunny days, can evoke a tropical atmosphere. The beach is used for various activities, including swimming, paddling, and surfing, although there is no lifeguard present. The surrounding area also offers a number of good coastal walks, with scenic views out over the Moray Firth.
Behind the beach lie the romantic ruins of Pittulie and Pitsligo castles, adding to the area's historical charm.
The beach has yielded some interesting finds, including the occasional discovery of cowrie shells.
