Reighton Beach is a small sandy beach with a designated bathing water area of one kilometre in length, featuring a gentle slope. At low tide, a large area of the beach is exposed, and the water's edge can be some distance away. The beach is backed by clay cliffs to the north and chalk cliffs to the south, with a caravan park situated behind the cliff top.
The beach is popular for swimming and walking, offering vast expanses of flat sands at low tide and spectacular views of the cliffs that run along the coastline. The cliffs are rich in fossils, and it may be possible to find washed-up specimens on and around the beach. Visitors can access the beach via a fairly steep path from the end of Sands Road, where parking is available.
Facilities can be found in the nearby villages of Hunmanby and Primrose Valley, including an amusement centre. The Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve is located to the east of the beach, offering excellent views and the opportunity to see many species of birds, as well as whales and dolphins on occasion. Reighton Sands Caravan Park is situated on top of the cliffs, overlooking the sea, and can be accessed via a ramp from the beach, where a café is located.
