Saye Beach, pronounced 'Soy', is situated on the North West coast of Alderney, the northernmost of the inhabited Channel Islands. The beach is sheltered by large rocky promontories and headlands, providing a calm and gentle sea that is perfect for swimming during the warmer months. The white sand leads down to the sea, and the waters are clean with abundant rock pools to explore towards the end of the beach.
The beach is surrounded by large, craggy rocks, which provide a habitat for indigenous grey seals, and some visitors may be lucky enough to spot one playing on the rocks. The beach is also known for its powdery white sand, making it an ideal spot for building sandcastles and enjoying the sun. Additionally, the waters are home to oysters, and visitors can explore the rock pools to discover an array of marine life.
The beach is backed by the Saye Beach Campsite, which offers full facilities, including a shop and picnic areas, making it a convenient spot to stay for those who want to be close to the beach. The campsite is situated on the other side of the fluffy sand dunes that surround the beach. Saye Beach is also within a short distance of other beautiful beaches, such as Arch Bay and Corblets Beach, making it an excellent base for exploring the area.
