Groomsport Beach is a small, attractive sandy beach located on the Bangor coast in County Down, Northern Ireland. .
Groomsport Beach is situated just 10 minutes' drive from the centre of Bangor and is located adjacent to a small harbour. The beach is easily accessible, with parking available next to the harbour to the west of the beach, which can be reached via a gently sloping path alongside a grassy area.
The beach itself is a small, attractive, sandy stretch, backed by the residential part of the picturesque village of Groomsport. A promenade runs along the western end of the beach, and a number of rocky outcrops make it an ideal spot for rockpooling, bird-watching, and walking. Facilities at the beach include toilets in the car park, a paddling pool, children's play area, tennis courts, and the popular Cockle Row Cottages museum and attraction.
The nearby village centre offers a range of shops, pubs, and places to eat, while the larger town of Bangor is just 10 minutes' drive to the east. Visitors can also explore the National Trust Nature Reserve of Ballymacormick Point, which is located nearby and offers a walk that leads to Ballyholme Beach.
