Ballywalter Beach is a long, east-facing sandy beach that stretches along the coast for approximately 3 kilometres. The beach is situated in a rural setting, backed mostly by fields, making it an ideal location for walkers seeking peace and quiet. The beach is also suitable for families, with numerous rockpools in the rocky outcrops that are perfect for children to explore and search for marine wildlife.
The beach has a large breakwater and slipways, and parking is available along Springvale Road in the outskirts of Ballywalter at the northern end of the beach. Public toilets and a children's play area are also located here, and the beach can be accessed via a short ramp. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including watersports, fishing, and boat trips. The nearby village offers a selection of facilities, including places to eat, drink, and stay, as well as a small fishing harbour.
