Ayr Beach is situated south of the River Ayr and harbour, and is part of a long, partly urban beach stretching south from the mouth of the River Ayr. The beach is a long stretch of sand backed by an esplanade, which offers lovely views out over the Firth of Clyde to the mountains of the Isle of Arran. At the north end of the beach, there is a pier from which visitors can take in the views. The esplanade also provides a pleasant walkway, and it is sometimes possible to find a parking spot along it. Alternatively, there is a car park just off Cromwell Road, which provides direct access to the esplanade.
The town of Ayr has a range of sports facilities and entertainments, making it an ideal destination for visitors. The beach itself is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and other beach activities. The nearby ruins of Greenan Castle, a 16th century tower house, are also worth a visit.
Visitors to Ayr Beach can access the beach via the esplanade, which can be reached from the town centre. There is also a car park just off Cromwell Road, which provides direct access to the esplanade.
Ayr Beach is adjacent to the Ayrshire Coastal Path.
