Heads of Ayr Beach is a small, sandy beach situated in a secluded area, backed by a grassy terrain and dominated by high cliffs. The beach provides a quiet and peaceful destination for those seeking solitude.
In contrast, Craig Tara Beach, also located on the Ayrshire coast, is a more lively beach experience. The beach is a mixture of rocks and sand and is backed by a bustling holiday park. At low tide, the beach offers a great opportunity to explore the rockpools and discover marine wildlife. Although the beach becomes narrow at high tide, it remains popular with walkers and beachcombers who enjoy the stunning views of the Ayrshire hills, the Heads of Ayr cliffs, and the Firth of Clyde.
Visitors to the area can also explore the nearby ruins of Greenan Castle and Dunure Castle, which offer a glimpse into the region's rich history. Furthermore, the Heads of Ayr Farm Park is a short distance from the beach and provides an excellent family day out during the holiday season.
Another nearby beach is a sandy beach with some rocks, overlooked by the Wonderwest World Holiday park.
