Bognor Regis East Beach is situated to the east of the pier entrance and is the most popular beach in Bognor Regis. The beach is located close to the town centre and is adjacent to a Butlins resort. It is backed by a promenade with plenty of seating, toilets, and other facilities.
The beach is predominantly shingle, but gives way to sand at low tide. The beach has a sloping shingle bank held in place by wooden groynes, leading down to an expanse of flat sand which becomes exposed at low tide. Relatively safe bathing is a major feature of the beach, along with well-managed facilities catering for other beach users.
The beach offers a range of facilities, including deckchair hire, toilets, and a promenade with seating. The council has implemented various initiatives to enhance the beach experience, such as the "Flex on the Beach Fitness Trail", the Foreshore Officers providing free Kid Care armband scheme, and the "Beach on the Beach" - an enormous kid-friendly enclosed sandpit. These features make the beach an attractive destination for families during the summer months.
