Eastoke Beach stretches for eight kilometres along Hayling Island, from Eastoke Point at the entrance to Chichester Harbour to Sinah Common at the entrance to Langstone harbour. The beach is characterised by a pebble shoreline with sandy stretches exposed at low tide. The western end of the beach remains undeveloped, while the eastern end features a promenade that runs from the bathing water to Sandy Point.
The bathing water is situated on the south coast of Hayling Island, facing across the Solent, and is primarily a steep shingle, groyned beach with some sand exposed at low water. Behind the beach, visitors can find shops, amenities, and a large car park with direct access to the beach. A grassy area suitable for picnics, public toilets, and a children's playground are also available. The beach is popular for swimming, water sports, and windsurfing, which was actually invented on Hayling Island.
The beach is suitable for a range of activities, including swimming, windsurfing, and sailing. However, swimming at high tide is best left to competent swimmers, as the water can get deep quickly. At low tide, the water is fairly shallow. Visitors can also enjoy fishing during spring and autumn. A seaside railway runs behind the beach, offering a scenic journey to Beachlands. Cyclists can take the promenade, which runs the full length of the seafront, offering a lovely ride.
Eastoke Beach, also known as Eastoke Corner, offers pebbles and sand, as well as a grassy area for family picnics. The beach is popular with holidaymakers, with nearby campsites and local facilities. The start of the promenade is located here, which runs all the way to Sandy Point. Further parking with access to the beach and toilets can be found on Southwood Road.
