Pittenweem is a typical fishing village characterised by its small, picturesque harbour and active fishing fleet. The village boasts the most active fishing harbour on the East Neuk Coast, providing excellent views to the south over the Firth of Forth.
A short walk from the harbour, along Mid Shore and West Shore, brings visitors to a small sand and rock beach, approximately 100 meters west of the harbour. Above the beach, along W Braes, there is a fairly large car park situated on a small headland, offering stunning views of the fishing village and coastline. The car park is equipped with public toilets, a skate park, and a children's play area. A path leads from the headland down to the shoreline, providing easy access to the beach. Additional parking spaces are available along East Shore and Mid Shore, adjacent to the harbour.
The village of Pittenweem offers a range of amenities, including a few shops and restaurants located alongside the harbour. For a wider range of facilities, visitors can explore the High Street, which is set about 50 meters back from the shoreline.
The area surrounding Pittenweem is popular for golf, with the Anstruther Golf Club located along the coast just to the north of the village. The village is also a favourite among walkers, as the Fife Coastal Path passes the beach, providing a scenic route for those looking to explore the coastline.
