The beach is composed of dark-golden sand backed by dunes, and its sheltered position means that it provides a safe location for bathing. At high tide, the beach appears modest, but as the tide goes out, it joins up with neighbouring Earlsferry to form almost a mile of sand.
Being located in a sheltered bay, by the harbour, Elie Harbour beach is a great spot for watersports, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and windsurfing. There are places to hire equipment if you fancy taking to the water, and lifeguards are on duty during the summer months.
With plenty of facilities close to hand, it is no surprise that this safe, sandy beach is a popular spot for families. Although it can get busy during the holidays, the expansive beach at low tide means that it rarely feels overcrowded.
Elie Harbour Beach is situated near Earlsferry in Fife, and is easily accessible for those looking to enjoy a day at the beach.
