Redcar Granville Beach is one of four designated bathing beaches in the resort of Redcar. The beach is a gently-sloping sandy stretch, bounded at the low water mark by Redcar Rocks, and is situated to the south of Redcar town. The beach is dissected by a number of wooden groynes and features a promenade suitable for walking, which runs alongside the beach slightly raised from the sand.
The beach offers a range of activities, including bathing, surfing, windsurfing, and kite surfing, as well as hunting for marine life in the rockpools. Visitors can access a café along the promenade and find further facilities, such as tennis courts and a large children's play area, in Zetland Park, which backs the beach. Additional facilities, including an amusement park, a lifeboat museum, shops, pubs, places to eat, and places to stay, can be found in the centre of Redcar.
The beach is located about half a mile to the south-east of the centre of Redcar and can be accessed via Lilac Grove from Redcar East railway station, which is approximately 500 meters away. Roadside parking is available along Coast Road, adjacent to a large grassy area that separates the promenade from the town.
