Arbroath West Links Beach is characterised by a straight rocky shoreline backed by cliffs, with a sandy area situated close to the town centre. The beach features numerous rock pools, which are exposed at low tide, making it an ideal spot for exploration and discovery. Adjacent to the car park, there are large areas of grass, providing ample space for picnics and outdoor activities.
The beach offers a range of facilities and activities, including parking with disabled spaces, toilets, a café, and a miniature railway. Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, and walking along the coastal path, which continues to the village of East Haven to the south-west. The beach is also backed by a large grassy plain, suitable for family picnics. In addition, there is an indoor pleasure land with various rides and amusements located opposite the beach on Queen's Drive.
The beach is easily accessible via a slipway, and dogs are allowed on the beach. Litter bins are provided, and the town centre of Arbroath is just a short distance away, offering a range of amenities, including restaurants, pubs, hotels, a railway station, a museum, and a ruined abbey.
