Brandy Cove is situated to the west of Caswell Bay, and access to the cove is via steep steps. Alternatively, visitors can walk to the cove from Caswell Bay via a steep path or from the village of Bishopston along the valley. The cove is also accessible by walking the coastal path from Caswell, which continues west around to Pwll Du Bay.
The cove is primarily composed of pebbles and rocks, and at higher tides, it is mostly rocky. However, as the tide drops, a reasonable area of sand is exposed. The cove has no facilities, but it is a dog-friendly beach all year round.
The name "Brandy Cove" originates from the days of smuggling, when contraband, including brandy, was landed here and hidden in the nearby caves. According to local legend, these caves were once the haunt of a witch, although this may have been a convenient cover for smuggling activities.
Brandy Cove is adjacent to the Gower Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
