The beach is backed by a path suitable for pedestrians and cyclists, which goes around the bay in both directions, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Nearby amenities include Swansea University and Singleton Hospital, which are located on the other side of the road from the beach. Visitors can also find a range of shops, eateries, and amenities in Swansea city centre, which is just a short distance away.
The shoreline at Sketty Lane beach is sandy, with a vast expanse of sand and mudflats exposed in the bay at low tide. Visitors can walk along the beach towards Swansea West Pier and Swansea Marina, which offer a range of shops, restaurants, and a coastal park. Alternatively, walking towards Mumbles, the beach is backed by the Singleton Park Boating Lake and a 'FootGolf' course.
