Solent Breezes Beach is situated on the east shore of the Solent, in front of low cliffs with beach protection structures. The beach lies in front of Solent Breezes Holiday Park, which offers direct access to the beach for its guests. The beach enjoys excellent views across to Calshot and the Isle of Wight.
Boating is a popular pastime at Solent Breezes Beach, as is walking along the coastal path, which offers panoramic views of the area. The Holiday Park has a shop and an outdoor swimming pool, and Southampton can be reached by car in a little over 30 minutes. Dogs are usually welcome on the beach, but visitors should check signage for restrictions.
Calshot Beach is part of a shingle spit located on the Hampshire coast, offering fabulous views of the Solent, Southampton, and the Isle of Wight. The beach is popular with wind and kitesurfers, and there is safe swimming in the lagoon. Visitors can hire a kayak or go windsurfing, and the Calshot Sailing Club is located right on the beach, offering a welcoming clubhouse. The spit also has a large saltmarsh area for those who love wildlife.
Calshot Beach is dog-friendly, but visitors should look out for signs indicating areas where dogs need to be kept on a lead. The beach has also been known to attract rare wildlife visitors, including Thor the Walrus, who made an appearance in December 2022.
