Tankerton Beach, located near Whitstable in Kent, is a charming shingle beach that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and traditional seaside charm. .

Tankerton Beach is a picturesque shingle beach lined with timber groynes and features a sandy shoreline at low tide. The beach is backed by gentle grassy slopes that lead down from Marine Parade, enhancing its rural character. A number of traditional wooden beach huts can be found along the beach, making it a popular destination for families.

The beach is situated approximately 1 mile east of Whitstable town centre, below Tankerton Slopes. Visitors can enjoy free on-street parking at the top of Tankerton Slopes and ample pay-and-display parking within a short distance. The beach is also home to a friendly sailing club located at the eastern end. Nearby facilities include a cafe, toilets, and a skatepark.

At low tide, it is possible to walk out to sea on a natural causeway known as 'The Street', which reveals a fair amount of sand and several rockpools. The beach and surrounding areas offer a range of activities, including swimming, picnicking, and exploring. During the busy summer months, lifeguards are on duty to ensure everyone's safety.

Tankerton Beach is dog-friendly all year round, although there is a restricted area between the first house and the start of the beach huts at Safety Point 14, marked by boundary lines on the promenade.

Whitstable Castle and Gardens is located just behind the beach, while the town of Whitstable itself offers a range of attractions, including a well-established commercial harbour supporting a small fishing fleet.

Tankerton Beach is adjacent to the Kent Coastline Walk.
