Reculver Beach is a small, peaceful shingle beach located on the north Kent coast, offering a tranquil retreat for visitors. .

Reculver Beach is a small, tranquil stretch of shingle, backed by rocks and grassy areas around 3 miles east of Herne Bay. The beach is overlooked by a 12th century tower and Roman fort, providing a romantic backdrop and an excellent photo opportunity.

The site has a rich history, with a Roman fort once located here, and a Saxon church built after the Romans left. The current church, with its two towers known locally as “The Twin Sisters”, dates back to the 12th century. Visitors can walk along the many paths in the area, relax in the grassy area behind the church ruins, or enjoy a picnic.

The beach and surrounding Reculver Country Park are home to a variety of wildlife, including migratory birds in the winter months and sand martins nesting in the cliffs above the beach in the summer. The nearby playground is a great place for children to play, and visitors can also enjoy walking along the sea front, following The Saxon Shore Way Trail, or cycling on the Oyster Bay Trail.

Access to the beach is via a slipway, and disabled access is available to the reserve, down a steep slope which is tarmacked. The car park is reasonably priced, although visitors will need to bring coins to pay. There is also a pub near the car park and a visitor centre, although this is currently temporarily closed.

Reculver Country Park is designated a Special Protection Area (SPA) and Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI), recognised for its abundant wildlife and bird life.

Reculver Beach is adjacent to the Kent Coastline Walk and the Viking Coastal Trail.
