A rural pebbles beach with a slipway, Hampton Pier East Beach offers a semi-hard mud surface at low tide. The slip is available approximately 2 hours either side of high tide.
Situated on the North Kent coast, Tankerton Beach features a gently sloping shingle beach that flattens to a wide expanse of sand and mud at low tide. The bathing water contains numerous groynes and is backed by a promenade and a wide, grassy bank known as Tankerton Slopes.
Herne Bay East Beach, located just east of Herne Bay, boasts a shingle beach with a number of groynes stretching out into the sea. The beach is backed by a sea wall and grassy slopes, known as The Downs, which are criss-crossed with footpaths and designated a Special Protection Area for birds.
Herne Bay is a quintessential English seaside resort with a pier, promenade, and Victorian bandstand. The town offers a range of facilities, including excellent seafood restaurants.
The stretch of coast between The King's Hall and Reculver is popular with walkers, kayakers, boaters, and crabbers. The area is also great for long walks and offers stunning views of the cliffs and romantic ruins of Reculver Castle. Herne Bay East Beach, to the right of Neptune's Arm, is more rural and popular with sailing and kayaking enthusiasts. The beach is dog-friendly all year round.
Hampton Pier East Beach is adjacent to the Kent Coastline Walk.
