Tenby North Beach is a small sandy beach with a promenade, backed by cliffs and the town. It is one of the area's most popular beaches, dominated by Goscar rock and the medieval wall that surrounds the town. The beach offers a variety of facilities, including watersports, restaurants, shops, and pubs.
The North beach at Tenby is a long sandy beach set against a backdrop of cliffs on one side and Tenby town and the picturesque harbour on the other. The beach is easily identifiable due to the iconic Goscar Rock, which rears out of the sand in the centre of the strip. The beach is sheltered by the cliffs and part of the famous medieval wall that encircles the town of Tenby. The beach offers a range of activities, including watersports, boating, and swimming, with a lifeguard service running from late June to September. Visitors can also hire deckchairs and beach huts, and there are a variety of restaurants, shops, and pubs within easy walking distance.
The beach is accessible via scenic steps that lead down from the towering North Cliffs or by walking through the delightful harbour area. Tenby North Beach has won a range of awards, including the Blue Flag Beach award and the Seaside Award, making it a popular destination, particularly during fine weather and school holiday periods.
Dogs are restricted on the beach from 1 May to 30 September each year. The beach is also the location for the famous Boxing Day Swim event.
Tenby North Beach is adjacent to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
