Blackpool is possibly the most established seaside resort in the UK. The town boasts a brightly-lit promenade and three large piers, featuring funfairs, amusements, and entertainments. A sandy beach and a bustling, lively atmosphere make Blackpool a popular destination for tourists.
Blackpool Central bathing water is sandy and flat in profile, located between the Central and South Piers. The beach is backed by a high sea wall with a promenade behind it. At low tide, the beach becomes a vast expanse of flat sand, ideal for sunbathing, building sandcastles, and other leisure activities.
The beach and seafront offer a range of attractions, including the 500ft tall Blackpool Tower, seven miles of sand, and the well-known trams that run along the promenade. Visitors can also enjoy traditional seaside activities, such as donkey rides and deckchair hire. The town's famous Blackpool Illuminations take place at the end of every summer, featuring the trams as centrepieces.
Blackpool Central Beach is situated between the Central Pier and the South Pier, forming part of the iconic Blackpool coastline known as the Golden Mile. The beach offers a wide range of visitor attractions throughout the year, making it Lancashire's most popular holiday destination.
Blackpool Central Beach is adjacent to the Lancashire Coastal Way.
