Golspie North Beach is characterised by its gradually curved shape and mixture of golden sands and shingle. The beach offers panoramic views across the Moray Firth, making it an excellent spot for long beach and coastal walks. The beach's natural breakwater provides calm seas, adding to its appeal.
The beach is situated in the attractive seaside village of Golspie, approximately one hour's drive from Inverness. The village is nestled in the shadow of Ben Bhraggie and offers a range of local amenities and services, including shops, cafes, and public toilets. Golspie has an interesting history, having been expanded in the 19th century to accommodate families evicted during the clearances.
The North Beach is divided from the sandier South Beach by an attractive harbour with a tidal pier stretching out into the Dornoch Firth. The beach itself curves gently round the bay and offers good views over the Moray Firth. Visitors to the area can also explore the spectacular Dunrobin Castle, one of the finest houses in northern Scotland, and its formal gardens.
Free parking is available around Golspie, and visitors can access the beach car park by following signs from the A9.
