Hopeman village is home to two beaches, separated by a headland that houses the harbour. The larger of the two beaches is Hopeman East, which boasts a predominantly sandy shoreline with scattered rocky patches and numerous interesting rock pools to explore.
The beach is renowned for its large waves, making it a popular spot for surfers. Additionally, the beach is a favourite among walkers, with a coastal path running along the shore. Visitors can enjoy excellent views of the Moray Firth from the beach, with a good chance of spotting dolphins riding the surf.
There are ample parking spaces located behind the beach, as well as a skate park, public toilets, and a number of beach huts. Further facilities can be found along Harbour Street to the west of the beach. The area is also a haven for golf enthusiasts.
Hopeman East Beach is adjacent to the Moray Coast Trail.
