The bay is a wave-cut platform containing a 4 mile shingle beach. To the east, it is backed by the chalk cliffs of Seaford Head Nature Reserve. The beach is a quiet family destination and offers a range of activities, including swimming, kayaking, fishing, and cycling along the promenade.
Seaford Bay Beach is located on the East Sussex coast, between Brighton and Eastbourne, approximately a couple of hours' drive from Central London. The beach stretches about 4 miles along the coastline, starting near Newhaven Harbour in the west and extending to Seaford Head in the east.
The beach offers a range of amenities, including a museum, a cafe, beach huts, car parking, and a cycle path. Visitors can enjoy picnics, leisurely walks, and a variety of water sports. The Seaford Museum, a Martello tower on the beach, features displays on local history and heritage. There are also several small kiosks selling snacks and refreshments.
Seaford Beach is generally dog-friendly, allowing dogs on most parts of the beach throughout the year. However, there is a seasonal restriction in place for the central section of the beach, between Salts recreation field and the Martello Tower, where dogs are prohibited from May to September. During this time, dogs must be kept on a lead in other areas of the beach.
