Bexhill Beach is a resort beach with a predominantly shingle beach, where shallow sandflats are exposed at low water. The beach is accompanied by a promenade and the urban backdrop of the town of Bexhill. Two outfall pipes in the west of the bathing water drain Egerton Park Stream and the overflow from Egerton Park Lake onto the beach.
The beach offers good facilities, including a two-mile promenade, charming beach huts for hire, and seafront cafes. Swimming is generally safe, with RNLI lifeguards on duty during the summer and flagged areas for bathing. Visitors can enjoy a traditional seaside experience, taking advantage of the various amenities available.
Bexhill Beach is dog-friendly during the winter months, although restrictions apply during the summer. The beach was also featured in the 2006 film Children of Men as a government-quarantined refugee camp for immigrants awaiting deportation.
