Weston-super-Mare is a popular seaside resort that has been attracting visitors for centuries. The town has a long history as a Victorian seaside holiday destination and has evolved into a modern resort with a wide range of entertainment options for the whole family.
The town's main beach is a long, sandy stretch backed by a promenade, with miles of coastline to explore. One of the beaches, known as Royal Sands, is located just south of the town centre, near the golf club. The beach is dog-friendly during the winter months, although there are summer restrictions in place between Royal Sands and the Grand Pier from 1st May until 30th September.
The Grand Pier is a major attraction in Weston-super-Mare, featuring world-class rides and attractions. The pier was destroyed by fire in 2008 but was rebuilt and reopened to the public in October 2010. Visitors can also enjoy a range of water sports, including kite surfing, jet skiing, windsurfing, and sailing. The Seaquarium is another popular attraction, and the town is also famous for its donkeys.
One interesting fact about Weston-super-Mare is that it has the second-highest tidal range in the world. The town's seafront offers a range of entertainment options, including pubs and restaurants, making it an ideal destination for families and holidaymakers.
