Broadhaven Beach is a west-facing sandy beach that offers excellent views across St Brides Bay. The beach is popular with families due to its safe bathing conditions, and the nearby town provides a number of attractions. For those interested in natural history, the beach features rock pools that are perfect for exploration, and the Pembrokeshire National Park Information Centre is conveniently located nearby, offering information on guided nature walks.
The village of Broad Haven developed as a resort during the Victorian era and features a grand seafront with a promenade. Despite its small size, the village remains a popular spot, largely due to the quality of its beach, which regularly receives the Blue Flag award.
At high tide, the beach is reduced to a narrow band of sand and pebbles, but at low tide, a vast expanse of firm, golden sand is revealed. The northern end of the beach is home to several good rock pools and features interesting geology, including sea stacks and natural arches such as Emmet Rock and the Sleek Stone. The beach is generally calm, making it ideal for swimming, but it is also a popular spot for surfing, windsurfing, and kite-surfing when conditions are right.
The beach offers a range of activities, including surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding, and is a great starting point for coastal walks, such as the scenic route to Little Haven. The beach is family-friendly, with lifeguards on duty during the holidays, and there are plenty of facilities, restaurants, bars, and shops in the town.
Broadhaven Beach is adjacent to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
