Mewslade Bay East Beach is situated close to Worm's Head on the Gower Peninsula, with the surrounding land forming part of a large expanse of National Trust land. To access the beach, visitors can park in a farm field car park and take a half-mile stroll down a hill through woods and fields to the bottom of the valley. From there, a short climb over and down some rocks is required to reach the sand.
The beach is backed by high grassy cliffs and dominated by the 70-metre high rocks of Thurba Head. At low tide, Mewslade Bay East Beach joins with its neighbour to the west, Fall Bay. However, at high tide, the beach is completely submerged, making it essential to check tidal tables before visiting.
There are no facilities available at Mewslade Bay East Beach, including toilets or shops. However, the beach is used by experienced surfers, and there are no restrictions on walking dogs. Visitors can explore small caves and arches along the shore as the tide recedes, and the beach opens up to provide plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
