Three Shells Beach is situated in the centre of Southend-on-Sea, adjacent to the town's mile-long pier and close to the Adventure Island Amusement Park. The beach is a small sandy stretch that is very popular with families with small children, thanks to its sheltered position and shallow profile, making it a safe place for young children to paddle.
The beach has a play area for children and is close to a range of amenities, including food outlets, cafes, and shops. The Blue Flag award-winning beach also features a lagoon area, which allows for safe swimming regardless of the tide. Visitors can hire deck chairs and use shower facilities, while disabled toilets are also available.
The beach is easily accessible, with parking available on the sea front road close by. However, dog owners should be aware that canine companions are only allowed on the beach from 1 October to 30 April, with the exception of guide dogs, which are permitted all year round.
Three Shells Beach is centrally located in Southend-on-Sea, with easy access to amusements, cafes, shops, the Pier, and Adventure Island, which features many of the town's theme park rides. The beach is an excellent destination for families looking to enjoy a day by the sea, with plenty of options for entertainment beyond the beach itself.
