Kinmel Bay is a picturesque north-facing sandy beach located on the north coast of Wales, offering a serene and natural environment for visitors to enjoy. .

Kinmel Bay, also known as Sandy Cove, is situated approximately 2 kilometres west of the River Clwyd, within a long sandy stretch of beach extending over 8 kilometres from Kinmel Bay to Llanddulas. The bay boasts a fine north-facing sandy beach backed by a narrow promenade and Kimmel Dunes nature reserve. The beach has a large tidal range and is gently sloping from the low tide mark to the high tide pebbled area.

The sandy beach at Kinmel Bay is a popular spot with summer visitors and is used all year round by watersport enthusiasts. Nature lovers can spot the occasional grey seal offshore, as well as skylarks, kestrels, and various wading birds. The beach is accompanied by a narrow promenade that passes the Kinmel Dunes Nature Reserve, providing a habitat for maritime plants such as sea holly, rest harrow, and bird's foot trefoil.

The beach benefits from a large car park with toilets, and in summer, a beach kiosk is open along the promenade. An Asda supermarket is located nearby. Dog walking restrictions are in place from May to September, and dogs must be kept on leads within the nature reserve.

The Kinmel Dunes Local Nature Reserve and the North Wales Coast Path run parallel to the beach, offering opportunities for walking and nature exploration. Visitors can enjoy a coffee on the beachfront, and the beach extends to Horton’s Nose Nature Reserve and the Clwyd Estuary. While watersports like kitesurfing, windsurfing, and canoeing are popular, there are no lifeguards on duty. For yachting and fishing, visitors can head to Kinmel Bay's harbour.
